Why Did HVIM Travel to St. Petersburg?

ree

Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, the activities of the Sixty-Four Counties Youth Movement (Hatvannégy Vármegye Ifjúsági Mozgalom, or HVIM) are fully transparent—an open book for anyone interested. We report all significant events and actions on our website (www.hvim.hu) as well as on our social media platforms. This was equally true of our trip to St. Petersburg and the founding of the International Sovereigntist League.

HVIM acts independently and seeks equal partners among traditional, Christian, and right-wing organizations that share our ideas and worldview. We aim to connect with what remains of the world’s traditional forces and to build alliances; our participation in the St. Petersburg conference was another step toward that goal. We work with the interests of the Hungarian nation firmly in mind.

We must emphasize that fabricating, spreading, or insinuating baseless conspiracy theories is dangerous and evokes dark chapters of history. Contrary to speculation, the HVIM delegation traveled in an old minibus, with all expenses covered personally by its members. We have informed both the authorities and the press that we are ready to answer any questions. We have nothing to hide.

To those who claim that Russia seeks to revive the Soviet Union, we note that we joined a march of some 60,000 Christians and monarchists in St. Petersburg. Moreover, Alexander Dugin has recently spoken of abandoning the Soviet legacy. We examine every development with critical distance. Our activities and actions are firmly rooted in values.
